Sheryl Ann (Staton) Slone, 68, of Crown City, Ohio gained her heavenly wings June 20, 2021. She was born on December 25, 1952 in Williamson, West Virginia to the late William and Vernie Staton. Sheryl was the volunteer coordinator at the Gallipolis Developmental Center where she retried. She was a supporter of the Gallia County Junior Fair and the 4-H program where she had been the 4-H advisor of the Pairs and Spares 4-H Club for thirty years. Sheryl is survived by her loving husband, Ronald; two sons, Chad (Susie) Fitch and Christopher (Bethany) Fitch; step son, Ryan Slone; grandchildren, C.J. (Cierra) Fitch, Tyler (Jennifer) Fitch, Layne Fitch, Brady Fitch, Taylor Fitch, and Haylee Fitch; great grandchildren, Ava, Adley, Aubree, and Braylynn; siblings, Teddy Staton and Lynn (Nickie) Swain; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray (Sheila) Slone, Jack (MiMi) Slone, Pauline (Rex) Unroe, Ed Dunford, and Tommie Sue Staton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Sheryl was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Dunford and a special sister-in-law, Ella Mae Cox. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Ridgelawn Cemetery with Pastor J.R. Vance officiating. A meal will follow immediately after the graveside service at Mercerville Baptist Church; all are invited to attend. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, nephews, and great nephews: C.J. Fitch, Tyler Fitch, Joshua Staton, Michael Grant, Shawn Dunford, Jr., and Fredrick Dunford. Willis Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
