Stanford Othie Cox

Stanford Othie Cox, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at his home in Cheshire, Ohio. Stanford was formerly from the Little Bullskin/Mercerville area. He was born March 11, 1951 in Lawrence County, son of the late Willard and Geneva McGuire Cox. Stanford was a truck driver for Gilbert Trucking for several years. He enjoyed being a mechanic, working on cars, watching car races and truck pulls on tv, and spending time with his brothers fishing and riding motorcycles. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #2586 in Barboursville, WV. Surviving are his two sons and one daughter, Heath Jeanette Cox of Chillicothe, Ohio, Heather Cox of Gallipolis, Ohio and Adam Cox of Oak Hill, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Cassie Cox of Arkansas, Bryan Cox of Texas, Dillon Cox of Rio Grande, Ohio, Brianna and Tianna Waganor of Gallipolis, Ohio, Autumn, Austin and Addison Cox of South Carolina, and Andrea Liff of Chillicothe; four brothers, Gearld Wanda Cox, Johnny Nancy Cox, Richard Sandy Cox, Dale Carol Cox, all of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sisters, Shirley Tom Stephens of Crown City, Ohio and Sharon Wade Bishop of Jackson, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Reverend Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Mina Chapel Cemetery.
