Steven R. Layne

Steven R. Layne, 55, of Crown City, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at his residence. He was born March 4, 1956 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Richard Kenneth and Estella Northup Layne. He was a teamster union member out of Huntington, WV and a truck driver. Steven is survived by his son, Dustin (Kayla) Layne and his daughter, Brittany Layne both of Garyville, Louisiana; his former wife, Karen Layne of Garyville, Louisiana; brother, Shawn Layne of Gallipolis; sisters, Bethany (Mike) Sheets of Crown City and Belynda Layne of Newport News, VA; nieces and nephews, Megan and Mary Sheets of Crown City and Craig (Brittany) Layne of Gallipolis; an aunt, Gloria Henderson of Bidwell; and his beloved dog, Ace. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his paternal grandparents, Kenneth H. and Mary Fillinger Layne and his maternal grandparents, ODell and E. Frances Northup. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2011 at St. Nick Cemetery with Pastor Danny Underwood officiating. Arrangements are by the Willis Funeral Home.
