Thelma I. Giles, 80, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Arbors at Gallipolis. She was born on August 7, 1927 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Samuel and Carrie Elizabeth Lugg Hart, Sr. Thelma was a homemaker, and member of the Mt. Zion Church in Pomeroy and a member of the Church's garden club. Thelma was married for fifty-seven years to Clair William Giles, Jr. and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2007. She is survived by two sons, Cecil D. Giles of Albany, Ohio and Franklin Cheri Giles of Gallipolis; four grandchildren Summer M. Atkinson of New Marshfield, Ohio, Donald Giles of Wellston, Ohio, Neil Giles of Athens, Ohio, and Jennifer Giles of Gallipolis; three great grandchildren Emma Giles of Athens, James and Dallas Atkinson of New Marshfield; four sisters Mary Ray Mott of St. Paris, Ohio, Dorothy Beatty of Urbana, Ohio, Nancy Ronald Strader of Springfield, Ohio, and Gee Gee Gerald Gracy of New Carlisle, Ohio; Sisters-in-law Metta Rhoten of Dayton, Ohio, and Winnie Hart of New Carlisle, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and by one sister. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Mott officiating.
