Thelma Grace Shaffer

Thelma Grace Shaffer, 95, of Crown City, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Abbyshire Place in Bidwell, Ohio.

Born on August 1, 1927 in Gallia County, Ohio, Grace was the daughter of the late William Emory and Stella Mae Cox Johnson.  On March 4, 1949, Grace married Clarence W. Shaffer, who preceded her in death on March 14, 1984.  Grace was a homemaker and a member of Kings Chapel Church.

Grace is survived by two daughters, Carla (Pete) Somerville of Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Lora (Charles) Fredrickson of Lecanto, Florida; son, Terry (Beverly) Shaffer of Crown City; six grandchildren, Bethani, Seth, Austin, Casey, Heather, and Elizabeth; ten great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Irene Shaffer of Gallipolis, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband Clarence, Grace was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee Shaffer; great granddaughter, Lavina Michelle Shaffer; and siblings, Weltha Irene Johnson, Virginia Mabel Johnson, Belva Mae Elliott, Delbert Donald "Bud" Johnson, Goldie Marie Sibley, Anna Francis Shaw, and James Waldo Johnson.

The funeral service for Grace will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating.  Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.  Friends may call prior to the service Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
