Thelma Hanner Woodward

Thelma 'Hanner' Kathleen Johnson Woodward, 81 of Gallipolis, Died on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born on July 12, 1928 in Mason Co., WV the daughter of the late Henry D. and Rena Mae Kerns Johnson. Hanner was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she spent her life loving and taking care of family and friends. She was a housewife and helped to take care of the family farm. Her greatest joy was cooking and entertaining those who visited. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Tom Woodward, Children: Tom Jackie Woodward of Gallipolis, Terri Ken Moore of Pt. Pleasant, WV, Tami Stan Evans of Bidwell, Tonya Bill Kelley of Cheshire, Tandi 'Gomer' Mark Moore of Gallipolis. Grandchildren: Rob Mariah Woodward of Wheelersburg, Morgan Todd Houck of Gallipolis, Tyler Kelley and Laura Kelley both of Cheshire, Korey Matt Custer of Georgia. Great Grandchildren: Grace Woodward and Wesley Houck. Sisters: Dorothy Wilson of Parkersburg, Ada Hartman, of Indiana, Mary Gibbs of New Haven. Brother: Phil Johnson of Minnesota. Brother-in-law: George Nona Woodward of Gallipolis numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends Preceded in death by her parents , Sisters Mae Robinson, and Anna Phillips, Brothers: James Johnson, and P.D. Johnson Sister and Brother-in-law: Dr. George and Jean Davis. Services will be on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 6 until 9 pm. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Thelma's name to your favorite charity or your local church.
