Verbie O. Waugh, 79, of Crown City, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at her residence. She was born October 17, 1932 in Crown City, daughter of the late Peter and Margie (Hunt) Parsons. She married John Lee Waugh on January 17, 1950 and he preceded her in death October 1, 1994. Verbie was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She is survived by four children, Harold Lee (Sandy) Waugh of Athalia, Brenda (Steve) Sanders, Linda Watson and Mike (Karen) Waugh, all of Crown City; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren; four sisters, Lona (Tunnie) Clary, Dollie Mooney, Gracie Caldwell and Naomi (Cis) Whitt; and special companion “Rosie”. In addition to her parents and her husband, John Lee Waugh, Verbie was preceded in death by and infant son, John Lee Jr. and four brothers, Leslie, Wilmer, Sherman and Arvil Parsons. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
