She is survived by two children, Shirley (David) Tabor, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ed Skaggs, Proctorville, Ohio. She was blessed with four grandchildren: Sarah Rowe (Brad Stevens), Barboursville, West Virginia; Amy (John) Vann, Cincinnati, Ohio; Farah Reynolds, Clover, South Carolina; and Elliott Skaggs, New York, New York. She was further blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Kayley and Taylor Stevens; Ella Rowe; Chase and Piper Reynolds; and Andrew and Olivia Vann. Also surviving are her brother, Jeff Rucker, Boaz, Alabama; and her sister, Bonnie Stevens, Gallipolis, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also called Mamaw by lots of children, some of which now have children of their own. She had four great passions: serving God, loving her family, caring for and teaching children, and sewing. The funeral service for Virginia Ruth Skaggs will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Willis Funeral Home, Gallipolis, Ohio. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Following will be a short family graveside send-off at White Oak Baptist Church.
