Vonley Cline Stanley

Vonley Cline Stanley, 64, of Patriot, Ohio passed away on Friday May 28, 2010 at his home. He was born on April 30, 1946 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina to the late Vernon and Jemima Job Transeau Stanley. Vonley married Hazel Cade on May 5, 1973 in Lawrence County, Ohio and she survives him along with a daughter Barbie Darrell Shaw Bolyard of Patriot, three sons Vonley Adam Kelli King Stanley of Bidwell, Joe Jessica Stanley of Addison, and Rufus Jessica Davis Stanley of Gallipolis; ten grandchildren Aaron Amy Bolyard, Ashley and Abby Bolyard all of Patriot, Lance Stanley of Bidwell, Madison and Alexis Stanley of Park River, Michigan, Connor and Ethan Stanley of Addison, Delilah Stanley of Gallipolis, and Desirea Davis of Gallipolis, one great grandson Jacob Bolyard of Patriot, three brothers Tom Carolyn Stanley, Jack Stanley, Tony Debbie Stanley all of Patriot, five sisters Mary David Wheldon of Patriot, Margaret Gene Avery of Pedro, Ohio, Kathy Wayne Harrison of Crown City, Linda Joe O'Dell of Jackson Ohio, and Judy Dave Beiler of Lancaster, PA, mother-in-law Reba Knipp Cade of Waterloo, Ohio. Vonley was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ralph Stanley, two brothers-in-law Freddie and Melvin Cade. Vonley worked various jobs through his life, a painter for Chris Craft, and a grader operator for Walnut and Harrison Township's trustees. He helped build the Timber Ridge Lake, Timber Cutter, a welder. In his later years he was self-employed. His enjoyments of life were spending time with the grandkids, playing the guitar, banjo, and mandolin and listening to Bluegrass music. He also enjoyed going gin-sing hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Rehobeth Church with Pastors David Higgins and Wayne Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Willis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Aaron Bolyard, Rick Cade, Charlie Stanley, Jeremy Wheldon, Kenny Cade and Jason Peck. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandsons Lance, Connor and Ethan Stanley and nephew Gearld Lee Cade. His body will be taken to the church one hour prior the services on Thursday.
