Walter L. Watson

Walter L. Watson, 76, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at his residence. He was born on February 24, 1933 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Ira E. and Nellie M. McGuire Watson. Walter was married to Florene S. Watson and she preceded him in death on October 20, 2008. He was also preceded in death by a son Dean in 1973 and by a brother Charles 'Eddie' Watson. Walter was a retired union laborer. He enjoyed coon hunting and pony pulls. Walter was a U.S. Army veteran serving during Korea. Surviving are two daughters Lorena Steve Sherwood of Gallipolis, and Loretta Tim House of Fayetteville, Ohio, three sons Lee Watson, Jeff Patty Watson and Tim Watson all of Gallipolis; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters Mae William Curtis of Chillicothe, Ohio and Hilda 'Sis' James Haner of Gallipolis; several nieces and nephews survive. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Willis Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Burial and graveside services will be 11 am Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Mina Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Mark Polley officiating.
