Wendell A. Lucas

Wendell A. Lucas, 63, of Jackson, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. Wendell was born on March 5, 1957 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Ora Elvis and Jane A. Barcus Lucas. Wendell was retired from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class/ E7 and loved genealogy; he was a graduate of Hannan Trace High School. He was married to Laurie King Lucas on May 31, 2018 in Vinton, Ohio; and she survives him along with a stepson, Austin Conklin also of Jackson; siblings, Ida Carlene (Wilmer) Parsons of Thurman, Ohio, Connie Lear of Gallipolis, Vernon Lucas and Dean Lucas both of Gallipolis, Ohio, Michael Lucas of Wellston, Ohio, and Gary (Jan) Lucas of Hilliard, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings, Joan Biars, Jerry Lucas, and Barbara George. A service for Wendell will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Chapel of Hope with Pastor Rick Barcus officiating. Friends may call prior to the service from 12-1 pm at the Chapel of Hope.
