William M. Coble Sr.

William M. Coble, Sr., 70, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio. He was born March 8, 1940 in Durham, South Carolina, son of the late Shorty and Bonnie Halley Coble. William married Evelyn Wray on September 4, 1971 in Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia. He retired from General Electric in Worthington, Ohio. William was a Vietnam Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Coble of Thornville; a son, Bill Angela Coble and a grandson, Zachary Coble, all of Thornville; one brother, Alfred Coble of Florida; and a half brother, Woodie Seward of Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Florence Halley who raised him. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Balls Chapel Cemetery, Ashton, West Virginia. Friends may call from 12 1 p.m. prior to the service on Friday. There will be full military services by volunteers of area veteran's lodges.
