William G. "J.R." Johnson

William G. "J.R." Johnson, 51, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. J.R. was born on April 26, 1970 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of Linda Preston Johnson and William G. Johnson, Sr., both of Gallipolis, Ohio. J.R. was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School Class of 1988. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, a huge fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and a fan of NASCAR's Rusty Wallace. J.R. enjoyed listening to Hank Williams, Jr. In addition to his parents, J.R. is survived by two daughters, Sierra and Shaelynn Johnson, both of Gallipolis; one brother, Mark (Connie) Johnson of Gallipolis; two nieces, Ashley (Travis) Roush and Allie Johnson, both of Gallipolis; great nephews, Mason and Parker Roush; and great niece, Maddie Roush. The funeral service for J.R. Johnson will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Junior Preston officiating. His burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be William G. Johnson, Sr., Mark Johnson, Jesse Jones, Rusty Smith, Tim Elkins, Eric White, Travis Roush, Tommy McGuire, and Brett Harrison.
