William “Bill” T. Gooderham, of Crown City, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 23, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He was born February 1, 1928 in Huntington, West Virginia, son of the late Benjamin Harrison and Mayme Caldwell Gooderham . He was married to Naomi Swain Gooderham on October 13,1951 in Crown City and she survives him. Bill was a 1946 graduate of Mercerville High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Bill worked at C O Railroad, was a master electrician and worked at Crown City Mining. He was a member of IBEW #317 in Huntington, West Virginia. Bill was also a member of Victory Baptist Church and the VFW Lodge #6878, Proctorville, Ohio. Bill loved his God and his family. Surviving are his wife, Naomi Gooderham of Crown City; two daughters, Kim Miller of Crown City and Beth (Marty) Matthews of Proctorville; four grandchildren, Melissa (Barry) Call of Gallipolis, Beau Miller of Crown City, Morgan Matthews and Nicholas Matthews, both of Proctorville; four great grandchildren, Courtney (Luke) Vollborn, Cody Call, Cory Call and Carson Call; and one great great grandchild, Bryceton Vollborn. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a son Greg A. Gooderham in 1997, a granddaughter Natalie Bess Matthews, a brother James Gooderham, and two sisters Clarabelle Gooderham and Eloise Forth. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Crown City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. There will be military services at the graveside by volunteers of VFW Lodge #6878, Proctorville, Ohio. Pallbearers will be Marty Matthews, Barry Call, Beau Miller, Cody Call, Cory Call, Carson Call, Nick Matthews, B.J. Cox and Marc Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Verlin Swain, Nelson Swain and Sonny Smith.
