Carl R. Bing, Sr.

Carl R. Bing, Sr, 61, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at his residence after a short battle with cancer. He was born June 11, 1945 in Meigs County, Ohio, son of the late Lee Bing Sr. and Aurelia Brickles Bing. Carl was married to Alice Cox on December 8, 1962 in Gallia County, Ohio and she survives him. He was a retired flagman for Windleavs Mobile Homes, Gallipolis, Ohio. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Alice Bing of Gallipolis; two children, a son, Carl R. Sue Bing, Jr. and a daughter, Betty Charles Burris, both of Gallipolis; three grandchildren, Branden Faye Bing of Bidwell, Regina Cheney of Fairmont, WV and Austin Burris of Gallipolis; three great grandchildren, Nathan, AnnaLeigh and Jamie Marie Bing, all of Bidwell; three sisters, Darleen Vernon Bing of Pomeroy, Cledith Caldwell of Aiken, SC, and Dorothy Myers of Pomeroy; four brothers, Dale Alma Meyers of Belpre, George Flora Bing of Logan, Jim Bing and Emerson “Blain” Bonnie Bing, both of Gallipolis; and many nieces and nephews. Also a special friend of the family that has been like a daughter for years, Terri Corbin. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Aurelia and Lee Bing, Sr. and two brothers, Lee Bing, Jr. and Clarence Myers. Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Mina Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Carl R. Bing, Jr., John Johnson, Lewis Cox, Jr., Charlie Cox, Darrell Cox and Todd Cox. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vernon Bing, Jr., Duane Bing, Bill Cox, Jr. and Chris Cox. The family would like to thank Holzer Medical Center and Holzer Hospice for the care that was given to our loved one during this time.
