Daniel “Paul” Stinson, 52, of Cheshire, Ohio was unexpectedly taken from family and friends on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the Holzer Medical Center. He was born on July 29, 1954 in Logan, WV, to Clarence Hickory and Oma Daphne Pruitt Stinson. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor, friend and devoted community member. A man who never let moss grow under his feet, his accomplishments include: an attentive and loving husband of 30 years, father of three, employed at Gallipolis Developmental Center for 28 years and was the storekeeper for the last five years, President of Citizens Against Pollution CAP, served on the Council at Cheshire Village, Chaplain at Holzer Clinic and Cheshire Police Department, served as moderator for the Rio Grande Association, pastor at Good Hope United Baptist Church, and volunteered yearly to clean Camp Kirkwood. He was a member of the Cheshire Baptist Church and had been a licensed American Baptist Minister for 20 years. He had served as pastor at Bailey Chapel, Gallia Baptist Church, Pomeroy Baptist Church, Ash Street Church, and as interim pastor at Cheshire Baptist Church. Those who knew, worked and served with him will truly miss his smile, laugh and open arms. During the holidays, he could be found wearing a Santa Hat. Paul is survived by his wife April Moody Stinson whom he married on August 28, 1976 in Cheshire, Ohio; two daughters, Cynthia Kevin Causey of Crab Orchard, KY, and Heather Mac Cann of Owensboro, KY, a son Steven Stinson of Vinton, OH; two grandchildren, Christian McCarty, and Isabella Causey. His third grandchild is due in April 2007; two sisters, Judy Baisden of Turtle Creek, WV and Trudy Gary Baisden of Vale, NC; four brothers, Fred Phyllis Joy Stinson, of Bidwell, OH, Jim Peggy Stinson, of Jacksonville, FL, Joe Ida Stinson of Clinton, OH, and Ted Rayanna Stinson of Gallipolis, Ohio; mother-in-law Marjorie Moody of Cheshire, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Hickory and Oma Daphne Stinson, and by his father-in-law George Moody. Those who knew Paul can take comfort in knowing he is with our heavenly father and we shall see him again. Services will be 1 PM Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Sallee officiating, burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 from 5-8 PM at Willis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Judy Baisden, Ted Stinson, Fred Stinson, Steven Stinson, Christian McCarty, Mac Cann, Kevin Causey, Joe Stinson and Jim Stinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Blake, Roy Jones, Jim Rife, Keith Handley, David Palmer and Cheshire Village Council.
