Douglas H. Simms

Douglas H. Simms, 58, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 01, 2007 at the Holzer Medical Center. Doug was a retired City of Gallipolis employee having worked in the Sanitation Department. He was born on July 1, 1948 in Gallia County, Ohio to the late Charles and Melinda Simms. Surviving is his wife Virginia Sheets Simms whom he married on February 4, 1988, one daughter Medina Angel of Crown City, special daughter, Nikki Hall; Step Children Gregory Carter, Roberta Bobby Chapman, La Dawna Gary Ratcliff, Michelle Carter and Michael Carter, a daughter-in-law Amanda Simms of Vinton, Ohio; one brother Herman Ray Helen Simms of Crown City, and one sister Vivian Don Day of Crown City; 18 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Douglas Simms on March 14, 2003, his parents, and by two brothers, Donnie and Dale Simms, and by three sisters, Mary Williamson, Frances Oberly, and Juanita Simms. Funeral services will be 1 PM Sunday February 4, 2007 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Denney King officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens.
