Fred C. Ferrell, 81, of Gallipolis, Ohio and formerly of Chesapeake, West Virginia passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Holzer Medical Center. Fred was born on November 3, 1930 in Kanawha County, West Virginia to the late Ken and Nellie Adkins Ferrell. He retired from the A P Corporation having worked for 28 years as a butcher. Fred also served in U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the VFW Post 4464. He was also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Gallipolis.Fred is survived by his wife Nellie Johnson Ferrell of Gallipolis, a daughter Beverly (Kenny) Canterbury of McDermott, Ohio, and Sons David Ferrell of Columbus, Gary (Annette) Johnson of Proctorville and Gregory (Donya) Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Freds grandchildren include David (Karen) Euton and James Euton of McDermott; Charles Euton and Danielle Ferrell of Gallipolis, Tony (Judith) Euton, Kenneth (Charlene) Ferrell and Scott Ferrell of Portsmouth, Kathy (Ken) McCurdy and Michael Ferrell of Columbus, Amanda (Kyle) Bane of Teays Valley, WV, Rachel (Stevie) Karr and Michael Spence of Huntington, WV, Douglas (Rebecca) Spence of Knoxville, Tennessee, Andrea (Travis) Dolin of Rand, WV, and Danny (Darla) Johnson of St. Albans, WV, 21 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Raymond (Betty) Ferrell of Tampa, Florida.Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara Ann Ferrell in 2002, a son Don Ferrell and a grandson Fred Euton. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastors Gene Harmon and Mark Grizzard officiating. A Graveside committal will follow in the Montgomery Memorial Park, London, West Virginia at 2:30 pm. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 6-8 pm at the First Church of the Nazarene in Gallipolis.
