Jason F. Sommer, 49, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born April 30, 1967 in Gallipolis, son of the late Jon Michael Sommer and Janice McKenzie. Jason was married to Tammi Comer Sommer and she survives him. He was a 1985 graduate of GAHS and was a carpenter and excavator. Surviving are his wife, Tammi Sommer of Gallipolis; a daughter, Candice Nichole Sommer of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Leslie Marie Burchett, Jayla Lei Sturgeon, McKenzie Scarlett Dye and John Michael Sturgeon Jr.; and a sister, Carol Jo (Eddie) Harrington of Gallipolis. In addition to his parents, Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, C.H. and Eva Jo McKenzie, his granddaughter, Ashley Nichole Sommer and a brother, John Sommer. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Willis Funeral Home with Chaplain Fred Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Tony Aluise, Todd Comer, Kyle Dople, Edward Dye, Michael Todd Comer and Brandon Comer.
