Lucille “Lou” Fitch Ford, 86, of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pt. Pleasant, WV. She was born April 27, 1927 in Gallia County, Ohio, the oldest daughter of the late Cline and Blanche Myers Fitch. She graduated from Vinton High School in 1944 and received a B.S. degree from Mercy College in 1986. Lou worked for 12 years at Chrysler Inc. and 18 years at General Dynamic in Detroit, Michigan. Lou was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ, where she was a secretary to the eldership of the church and taught Sunday School. She was a Girl Scout Counselor, Vice President of the PTA and Home Room Mother. After retirement she volunteered as a Pink Lady and Community Food Bank. She received great enjoyment from traveling to 35 different countries. Surviving are her three children, Gail Bailey of Hurst, Texas, Dr. Sheri Ford (Dr. Evan Geller) of Stonybrook, New York, and Meri (Matt) Gray of Reynolds Station, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon (Gene) Harmon of Gallipolis, Mary (Charles) Keesee of Lambertsville, Michigan, and Pauline Miller of Springfield, Ohio; one brother, William (Judy) Fitch of Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Fitch and Joyce Fitch, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lou was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Keesee and three brothers, James, Jack and Marion Fitch. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Minister Bill Deem and Pastor Gene Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Evan Geller, Ethan Geller, Art Fitch, James Fitch, Jerry Fitch and Rick Keesee.
