Mary K(Kate) Duncan, 91, of Gallipolis,went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at her home. Born October 16, 1920, in Gallipolis,she was the daughter of the late WilliamEmerson and Donna (Lesley) Boggs. In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse S (Red) Duncan, who she married on February 5, 1941.He preceded her on September 19, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara A Downour;a granddaughter-in-Iaw, Michelle Duncan; three brothers, William, Herbert, and Elmer Boggs; and two Sisters, Muriel (Boggs) Bennett, and Louise (Boggs) Henson. Kate was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School and the Holzer School of NurSing. She was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church, Cross Lanes, WV. She retired as a nurSing supervisor from Holzer Medical Center. Kate was an active member of Pt Pleasant First Church of the Nazarene for many years. After moving to Cross Lanes, WV,she became active in Cross Lanes Baptist Church. For the past year, she has attended Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by four children, Tom (Jan) Duncan of Gallipolis;Ron (Janie) Duncan of Charleston, WV; Dan (Jeanne) Duncan of Scott Depot, WV;and Connie Montgomery of Gallipolis;a son-in-law, Jerry Downourof Alexandria, VA;9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Irene Duncan of Paden City, WV,and Marie Boggs, of Gallipolis. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm.., Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Mark Grizzard and Rev. Seth Polk officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery, Pt. Pleasant, WV.. Friends may call at the church from noon Wednesday until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be Greg Duncan, Matt Duncan, Nick Duncan, Alex Hines, Luke Oxyer, and Cody Gillenwater.
