Nancy Maxine Wells

Nancy Maxine Wells, 81, a blessed mother, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Holzer Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 17, 1928 in Burkesville, Kentucky the daughter of the late William and Fannie Mae Bunch Gilbert. Maxine was married to Donald Ray Wells, Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1995. Maxine was a retired Nurses Aid from the Holzer Medical Center. She enjoyed going to the beach, fishing and spending time with her family and friends. Maxine was a member of the Macedonia Church. She is survived by her children William D. Violet Wells of Gallipolis, Debbie L. Roger Dingey of Middleport, Donald R. Kim Wells, Jr. of Patriot, Ruth Greaves of Patriot, Jeff Cindy Wells, Sr. of Chester, Maxwell Judy Kay Wells of Patriot, and Matthew G. Debbie Wells of Crown City; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; three brothers Frank Gilbert of Anderson, IN, Keith Mary Edna Gilbert of Burkesville, KY, Joe Virginia Gilbert of Morgantown, IN; two sisters Sue Kessling of Anderson, IN, and Elizabeth 'Bird' Thompson of Red Boiling Springs, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers C.W. and Shelby Gilbert, by a sister Jessie Scott and also by two infant brothers. Services will be 1 pm Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Hilda Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery Pt. Pleasant, WV. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Wells, Jr., Billy Wells, Justin Wells, Jeremy Dingey, John Wells, Jamie Davis and Chris Davis.
