Ruth I. Webster

Ruth I. Webster, 96, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at her residence. She was born September 13, 1913 in Crown City, daughter of the late William and Margaret Edwards Johnson. She was married to Morris L. Webster and he preceded her in death on April 30, 1986. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, where she helped with the kitchen committee for weddings. She was a member of OES Gallipolis Chapter and enjoyed her many friends. Surviving her are a son, Joseph M. Judith Webster and a daughter, Carol Lewis Bob Wiley, both of Gallipolis; one sister, Dortha Arnold of Chino Valley, Arizona; five grandchildren, Eddie Bryan Laura Lewis, Shawna Lewis Kevin Roach, Keary Lewis Matt Marshall, all of Gallipolis, Joseph M. Kim Webster II of Fairfield, Ohio and Jeannine Webster Greg Landis of Logan, Ohio; fourteen great grandchildren, Cody Lewis, D.J. Montgomery, Wes Montgomery, Jonathon Bonni Roach, Katelyn Roach, Tessa Roach, Kate Moon, Jessie Marshall, Jacob Marshall, all of Gallipolis, Caiden Landis, Mollie Landis, Ryann Landis, all of Logan, Ohio Joseph Webster III, Andrew Drake Webster, all of Fairfield, Ohio. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Morris L. Webster, a sister, Pauline De Foe, two brothers, Dale Johnson and Mervin Johnson. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor James Chapman and Bob Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, February 26, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Eddie Bryan Lewis, Joseph Webster II, Greg Landis, Kevin Roach, Cody Lewis, and Jonathon Roach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ruth's memory to Holzer Hospice or Gideon's International.
