Vernon Ray Sims

Vernon Ray Sims, 61, of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1951 in Huntington, West Virginia, son of the late James Vernon and Clara A. Smith Sims. He was married to Debra “Debbie” Hartman Sims and she survives him. In addition to his wife, Debbie Sims of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, Vernon is survived by one son, Nathan R. Sims of Louisville, Kentucky; two sisters, Loretta (Ernie) Roush of Columbus, Ohio and Brenda Sims of Gallipolis, Ohio; two brothers: David (Patty) Sims of Camden Ohio and James (Linda) Sims of Gallipolis, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service.
