Matthew R. Willis

Funeral director and embalmer

Matt Willis is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the states of Ohio and West Virginia. He and his wife of 41 years, the former Letty Walker, are lifelong residents of Gallipolis. In 2001, they bought the funeral home from his parents, Cleeland and Wanda Willis, and became the owners. They have two daughters, Brianne Willis and Brooke (Samuel) Frazier. Brianne is a RN/BSN/MSN residing in Gallipolis, Ohio; and Brooke is a RN/BSN residing in Russell, Kentucky. They also have one granddaughter, Maeve Evelyn Frazier. Matt attended Rio Grande College and is a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Liberty University. Matt is a member of the Gallipolis Rotary Club. He and his family are members of First Baptist Church in Gallipolis, where he has served as a deacon.

Letty Willis

Office manager

Letty is not only the wife of Matthew Willis, but she is also the current office manager for Willis Funeral Home. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Cedarville College and a Master of Science in School Counseling from the University of Dayton. Using these degrees, Letty was a senior English teacher and guidance counselor in the Gallipolis City Schools for 30 years. Letty serves as a member of the Marshall University Mid Ohio Valley Center Advisory Board, the Gallia Academy Alumni Association Board, and the Gallia County Retired Teachers Scholarship Committee.

Stephen A. Ball

Apprentice

Stephen is an apprentice. He completed his mortuary science program through the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and earned a Bachelor of Technical Studies from the University of Rio Grande. Stephen works with families on monuments.
